Bhutan Tsholung Tours & Travels
Five days trek, which leads from Paro to Thimphu or vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains that separates the two valleys. Although the route is sparsely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fish and the area is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests, which bloom in May. In the clear weather there are great views of the Himalayan ranges and snow-caped peaks.
Seasons: This trek is usually possible from late February to June and from September to December.
Inclusions
Hotel, transportation, guide, tea and snacks, visa fee, permits, entrance fee, mineral water (bottled), government tax and 3 meals daily.
Accommodation
3-star hotel (Bhutanese type), there is possibility of upgradation.
Exclusions
Flight ticket, insurance, tips, drinks and beverages, laundry, cellphone, internet and other personal expenditure or bills.

Day 01: Arrive Paro
On arrival at Paro, you will be welcomed by your Bhutan tour guide from Bhutan Tsholung Tours & Travels and transferred to your hotel in Paro. Afternoon; free for leisure or sightseeing. Evening; visit to Paro market and town. Overnight hotel in Paro.
Day 02: Hike to Taktsang
In the morning take a hike to visit Taktsang monastery also known as tiger nest. Bhutan’s most famous monastery, which stands at 3100m clings on the cliff. In 8th century spiritual master known as Guru Rimpoche has flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang monastery now stands. Day 03: Paro – Jeledzong (Distance: 8km, Trekking time:3 hours)
It is a short trekking day. The journey starts with short ascend to Jele Dzong. The trek trail ascends gradually up to the camp and if the weather is clear, Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind. Above the camp is Jele-la pass (3,400m) and Jele Dzong. There is also a lhakhang containing a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni. Overnight in camp.
Day 04: Jeledzong – Jangchu Lhakhang (Distance: 10km, trekking time: 3-4 hours)
The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons. You will have fine views of Jhomolhari and other snowcapped peaks if the weather permits, and you may hear some Himalayan monal and blood pheasants calling during the day. You may see yak herders around your campsite. Overnight in camp.
Day 05: Jangchu Lhakhang – Jimilangtso (Distance: 11km, trekking time: 4 hours)
The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day the views of the mountains and valleys are sensational. You will enjoy a great view of Jichu Drake (6,989m), the peak representing the protective deity of Paro. Our camp is close to the Jimilangtsho lakes, which is famous for their giant-sized trout. Overnight in camp.
Day 06: Jimilangtso – Simkota (Distance: 11km, trekking time: 4 hours)
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and passes by the lake of Janetsho. Today you may come across some yak herders’ camps and get an idea of how these people live. overnight in camp close to Simkota Lake.
Day 07: Simkota-Phajoding (Distance: 10km, estimated trekking time:4 hours)
Today begins with a gradual climb, and if the weather permits you will enjoy majestic views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, and the host of other peaks. The trail slowly descends through juniper trees to campsite beside a community hall near Phajoding cafeteria. Overnight in cafeteria or camp, depending on weather conditions.
Day 08: Phajoding – Thimphu (Distance: 5km, trekking time: 3 hours)
The trek to Thimphu (capital city of Bhutan) is downhill all the way, passing through a forested area of mostly blue pine. Taking a leisurely pace, you will reach Thimphu in about 3 hours.
Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
On arrival at Thimphu, relax in your hotel.
After lunch the sightseeing includes visiting memorial chorten (stupa built to commemorate late 3rd king of Bhutan), Buddha point (largest buddha statue in the world), school of arts and craft (painting school), zoo (preserved area for the national animal of Bhutan, Takin).
In the evening, visit to Trashi Choedzong (fortress of glorious religion), it serves as the central administrative purpose and residence of central monk body. Overnight hotel in Thimhu.
Day 10: Thimphu – Paro Airport & Departure from Paro
Drive to Paro and departing from Paro international airport to your onwards destination. Head back to your destination with memories entangled by happiness.
