Bhutan Tsholung Tours & Travels

Food

Bhutanese eats red rice or white rice. While you look at the menu,  you will see veg item and non-veg items. Bhutan don’t have KFC or MC Donald but you will see other fast foods. Bhutanese food is accompanied by one or two side dishes consisting of meat or vegetables. Pork, beef, chicken and fish are the most common meats while a tasty variety of fresh vegetables are also available. Buckwheat pancakes and noodles are also served. Ema Datsi (chili mixed with fresh local cheese) is our national dish but most hotels will prepare Ema Datsi adding beans/ferns/potatoes/mushroom. But momo (steamed dumplings stuffed with beef/pork/cabbages) is everyone’s favorite in Bhutan and you may also try this.

Besides native foods; Indian, Chinese, and many more common continental foods are also readily available in the hotel. While on trek, you will be supplied with lavish food items and our trained trekking chefs will treat you with delicious and nutritious food at any altitude.
